Please review important sales and use tax information for Puerto Rico, Vermont, Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky, Rhode Island and South Dakota regarding tax you may owe directly to the state or commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Vermont, Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky, Rhode Island or South Dakota.

Savvy me is a small business and hasn’t reached thresholds to withhold taxes for some states yet.

The states listed above have a notice and reporting law that require you the consumer to report your online purchases on your taxes before we reach those thresholds.

The customers who live in the following places are obligated to report their purchases to their local department of revenue: Puerto Rico, Vermont, Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky, Rhode Island and South Dakota.

The purchase is subject to state use tax unless it is specifically exempt from taxation. The purchases is not exempt merely because the purchase is made over the internet.

Savvy Me is required by law to report to these states department of revenue an annual report that includes you the customers 1) Name 2) the total dollar amount of all purchases for the calendar year 3) The purchasers billing, notice and shipping addresses.

This legal notice may be changed anytime Savvy Me reaches a sale threshold in a state that has Notice and report laws. If you aren’t sure if your purchase is required to report a use tax on your purchase please contact your local tax professional to consult with them.
